Revealing Jesus: This Is Hope
The year started with a couple of us at The Encounter asking God to reveal Himself to us. As Christians, we have always heard about the Father’s heart and even more so about who Jesus is, but are we able to embrace who He truly is to us?
Will I Ever Stop Learning?
It is very common that most people would look for another job when they are no longer learning anything new or feel stagnant in their current jobs. This is inevitably so for young people. Regardless of how nice their bosses or colleagues were, or the benefits a company provides, if they find themselves stagnant in their work, they would likely be moving on. It seemed like we had never stop learning from the moment we were born; and the moment we stop learning, we stop growing.
God is With us
There were times in the past couple of years where it seemed as though God was nowhere to be found in my life.
One of the little things I like to do during those moments is to pen my heart’s cry and more often than not, in a form of a song. My spirit knows that God is in control, but that understanding can sometimes be so hard to wrap my carnal mind around.
Choose Better
Many of us might be familiar with the story of Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42) where Mary was sitting at Jesus’s feet listening to Him while Martha was busy doing other things…and getting unhappy that Mary was not helping her out. Listening to this passage being preached many times, reminds me that we should seek to be like Mary and not like Martha.
Dove’s Eyes
Wouldn’t it amazing if we could have eyes like doves for our Lord and give Him the full attention and affection as lovers would bestow on each other?
Myth or Reality?
It was all about me. My day to day life was a struggle. A struggle between wanting to create and share, to be generous and giving, yet feeling stifled by my extreme fear of “not enough”. One day I couldn’t handle it anymore and brought it to the feet of Jesus.
This is Our Time
The tide has indeed turned in the past decade or so. Unimaginable peace treaties, diasporic Israelis returning back to their motherland, signs, wonders and the countless prayer, worship and evangelistic movements across the nations are pointing towards the one defining moment that all of creation is pining for – the second coming of the Lord.
Are you online?
I worship Him because I have experienced His greatness, His power, His might. It’s all around us in creation but it’s also in the things we experience in daily life which if we don’t count our blessings, we may take for granted.
Freedom in His Presence
Unbeknownst to us, we put up a façade each and every day (in various magnitude) to cover our real emotions. When can we completely be ourselves, real and genuine?
This is Why We Worship
I worship Him because I have experienced His greatness, His power, His might. It’s all around us in creation but it’s also in the things we experience in daily life which if we don’t count our blessings, we may take for granted.
Worship Over Worries
I worry a lot and make many excuses when I am placed in a position of discomfort...
I know God heard my cries but strangely, He didn’t bring me out of my conundrum. Instead, He brought me through it. He held my hand and led my every step and through that journey and experience, I grew spiritually.
Let The Worshippers Arise
There is a stirring in the heavenlies when God’s children come together to worship and exalt Him. God draws near a heart of worship and dwells in the midst of our praises. By the grace of God, the lockdown ushered in a worship revival not yet seen in recent times and when we, His children, cry out to Him and worship Him, we move His heart and His hands.
Finding The Right Words
And for me, as I worship and dance before Him, I can just dwell in His presence and pour out whatever I’m feeling. The steps and the movements speak to God more than words could ever express. My dance becomes my cry out for God as “deep calls to deep” (Psalms 42:7a).
Choosing A Life Of Worship
At the end of the day, the things that we fixate our eyes on now (wealth, career, reputation etc.) would no longer matter when we all get to heaven. We can, however, be sure that one thing will remain till the end of the ages – we will continue to worship our Father.
Finding the “I” in Worship
It’s definitely easier to be encouraged when we gather together with our cells and ministries but what happens when we are physically apart - do we lose something otherwise?
Seek. Worship. Experience.
Let us not be content to just know about God, let us seek to have an encounter and to deepen our personal relationship with Him.
The Encounter - Why We Do What We Do?
This post is dedicated to the birth of The Encounter as we know it today. We are an organization that desires a space for intimate and passionate worship and beyond that, to reach the unreached through music.
